You’ve seen Michael B. Jordan fight Black Panther. You’ve seen the actor turn into the Human Torch. And earlier this year, he was killing bad guys in “Without Remorse.” But this Christmas, the actor is turning his sights to a romantic drama, “A Journal for Jordan,” that does feature war but is more about family and love.
As seen in the trailer for the film, “A Journal for Jordan” stars Michael B. Jordan in a role that he’s not really used to playing on screen. The film is a change of pace for Jordan, who is most known for his action roles. In “A Journal for Jordan,” the actor stars as a soldier that keeps a diary for his young child. The film is based on the bestselling memoir by Pulitzer Prize-winning former journalist Dana Canedy. Yes, it’s likely going to be a tear-jerker.
“I’ve done a lot of physical roles because that’s been my appetite,” explained Jordan in a USA Today interview. “I’m 34; the last seven years has been (about) physically developing into your sweet spot.” But he says he was ready to try something more exposed. “I felt safe to be able to go into this, to explore these characters, and to be vulnerable in that type of way.”

Joining Michael B. Jordan in the cast is Chanté Adams as his partner, Dana. Adding to the star power is none other than Denzel Washington, who doesn’t appear on screen but instead is behind the camera for ‘Jordan,’ serving as director.
“A Journal for Jordan” is expected to arrive in theaters this Christmas. You can watch the trailer below.
