Six seasons after making the jump from a beloved indie film by David Michôd, to a series adapted for TNT, the show “Animal Kingdom” is coming to an end. Part of that is probably for one main reason. Warner Bros Discovery is changing and pivoting its business model and TNT is basically scrapping all their dramatic series and seemingly shifting into the reality TV space only. Most of their TBS and TNT scripted series shows have been canceled, so that means series like “Animal Kingdom” coming to an end.

So, just a few short weeks after the TBS/TNT news, TNT has released the trailer for the sixth and final season of “Animal Kingdom” premiering, Sunday, June 19 at 9pm ET/PT. Here’s the synopsis for the final run:
In the final season of TNT’s adrenaline-fueled family crime drama, the Cody boys discover that they can’t outrun their past. With their empire expanding, a cold case investigation sets off a series of events that puts the entire family in jeopardy. Revenge, betrayal, and a reckoning with long-forgotten violence leads to an explosive conclusion six seasons in the making.
Who is still left standing? Well, the show lost two of its biggest players in Ellen Barkin‘s Smurf and Scott Speedman‘s Baz after season two. The main cast of Cody family members are played by Shawn Hatosy, Finn Cole, Ben Robson and Jake Weary reprising their roles as Pope, J, Craig and Deran.
“Animal Kingdom” is produced by John Wells Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. Emmy®winner John Wells, Daniele Nathanson, Erin Jontow, Nick Copus, and Bradley Paul serve as executive producers on the series. “Animal Kingdom” was developed for television by Jonathan Lisco and inspired by the award-winning Australian feature film written & directed by David Michôd and produced by Liz Watts, who also serves as executive producer on the series.
