'Atlanta' Season 3 Trailer: The Hit Series European Tour Starts March 22

On March 1, it will be exactly four years since season 2 of Donald Glover’s critical smash-hit “Atlanta” premiered on FX. Obviously, a lot’s gone on in the world since the series’s popularity soared, so it’s entirely possible that some fans may have moved on from the show. However, “Atlanta” S2’s resume speaks for itself. The show racked up fourteen Emmy nominations, the most by any comedy series ever. For that alone, the show’s next two seasons are among TV’s most hotly anticipated this year.

And, yes, “Atlanta” fans get a double-dip this year, albeit a bittersweet one. This year, two new seasons of the show premiere, but they also wrap up the show for good. S4’s release date is sometime this Fall, but S3 comes out next month, with Earn, Alfred, Darius, and Van headed to Europe on tour. Meanwhile, Van and Earn remain on the skids, with Van in NYC at her mother’s house with their kid. With most of S3 taking place in Europe and S4 returning to Atlanta, expect the show’s final season to be a major homecoming for the crew.

“Atlanta” S3 sees the show’s primary cast return: Glover as Earn, Brian Tyree Henry as Alfred, Lakeith Stanfield as Darius, and Zazie Beetz as Van. Also, expect to see some old faces as guest stars, along with a few new ones.

Between the final two seasons this year, eighteen total episodes of “Atlanta” remain left. They all premiere on FX, starting with S3’s premiere on March 22 and then stream on Hulu the next day. So, will the series’ wrap-up be as critically acclaimed as its second season? As Glover’s star continues to rise, the safe bet is, yes, no doubt.
