Making its Canadian premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, it premiered at Tribeca earlier this year, “Blow the Man Down” is a mystery thriller about two sisters from a small Maine town that have to join forces to help dispose of a dead body and try to cover up a killing that was committed as an act of self-defense. Along the way, the small town of Easter Cove begins to develop suspicions regarding the man’s disappearance and the girls come under fire from a local brothel owner. And in honor of “Blow the Man Down” arriving at TIFF, we’re thrilled to present our readers with an exclusive first look at the beautiful poster for the film. It’s always great when posters evoke a feeling and truly are works of art, instead of the typical Photoshop monstrosities that seem to pass as marketing in 2019. And make no mistake, the folks at La Boca have created a poster that every film fan would proudly display.

The film stars Morgan Saylor, Sophie Lowe, Margo Martindale, June Squibb, Annette O’Toole, Will Brittain, and Gayle Rankin. “Blow the Man Down” marks the feature film debut for directors Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy and in our review from Tribeca we said the terrific film makes then instant filmmakers to watch from here on in.

Here’s the synopsis:

Welcome to Easter Cove, a salty fishing village on the far reaches of Maine’s rocky coast. Grieving the loss of their mother and facing an uncertain future, Mary Beth & Priscilla Connolly cover up a gruesome run-in with a dangerous man. To conceal their crime, the sisters must go deeper into Easter Cove’s underbelly and uncover the town matriarchs’ darkest secrets.

“Blow the Man Down” is debuting this week at TIFF and will be released in 2020 by Amazon Studios. You can take a look at the exclusive poster below.
