Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin Reportedly Making An Appearance In 'The Book Of Boba Fett'

In today’s take-in-with-a-big-spoonful-of-salt news, there’s a report that Din Djarin, Pedro Pascal‘s stoic masked protagonist in “The Mandalorian,” will make an appearance in the upcoming “Star Wars” show “The Book Of Boba Fett.”

The scoop comes from Cinelinx, reporting that Din Djarin will appear in the new show. Again, this is far from a confirmation that Pascal will reprise his role as everyone’s favorite space dad, but it wouldn’t be that surprising if it ends up being true. After all, the show is being billed not as a spin-off in the same vein as the upcoming Ahsoka TV show, but as the next chapter in the saga of “The Mandalorian.”

“The Book of Boba Fett” was announced last year as a post-credits scene during the season two finale of “The Mandalorian,” as we see the titular Boba Fett fly away and return to Tatooine and Jabba’s old palace, before taking over it and claiming the crime lord’s throne for himself. No further details are known about the series, but given the bond that formed between Boba and Din during the events of season two, it’s easy to imagine Pascal’s Din Djarin answering a call for help now that his alien son is off to Jedi preschool with Luke Skywalker.

We do know that “The Book of Boba Fett” will bring back Robert Rodriguez as an executive producer on the show alongside Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, while Temuera Morrison will continue to play the titular bounty hunter.

The question, of course, is how big of a role Din would have in the Boba Fett show, if any. Last we left him off, he was in a bit of a pickle after he became the rightful ruler of Mandalore and the owner of the Darksaber, rather than Bo-Katan, who was hoping to unite the Mandalorian clans under her own rule. Will these two stories intersect? Or will the Mandalore plot take a back seat until “The Mandalorian” season three comes out at some point in the future? Cinelinx reports that the Boba Fett show will at least reference the Mandalore plot.

“The Book of Boba Fett” is set to premiere on Disney+ this December.
