We have seen quite a few sides to actress Jennifer Garner. We’ve seen her kick butt in “Alias” and the upcoming “Peppermint.” We’ve seen her tackle serious work in “Dallas Buyers Club” and “Men, Women & Children.” She’s no stranger to feel-good family films like “The Odd Life of Timothy Green.” Hell, we’ve seen Garner put on the tights in superhero films also, albeit they weren’t any good. The point is, we’ve seen the actress flex her muscles quite a bit, and for her new show on HBO, she’s taking on something we don’t often see from Garner — adult comedy.
That’s right, in the first trailer for HBO’s “Camping,” we see Jennifer Garner in a full-on adult comedy series that looks like it might actually be hilarious. The series follows Garner’s character as she deals with all the insane people and situations she comes across while on a camping trip. It sounds like a pretty generic premise for a series, but with the minds behind HBO’s “Girls,” you can guarantee that there are some pretty interesting situations afoot for the actress.
Joining Garner in the cast are David Tennant, Brett Gelman, Juliette Lewis, Janicza Bravo, Ione Skye, and Bridget Everett. As alluded to before, “Camping” is executive produced by Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner, who are responsible for “Girls.”
“Camping” premieres on HBO on October 14.
Here’s the official synopsis:
