Chili Pepper Anthony Kiedes, Memoir, 'Scar Tissue' To Be HBO Series

Everyone remembers Red Hot Chili Peppers singer Anthony Kiedis’ 2004 memoir, “Scar Tissue,” right? The candid and revealing autobiography centered around Kiedis’ unusual rock n’ roll upbringing by his drug- dealing father, his heroin addiction(s) and gave intimate details on the many, many, many women he bed (includes stark naked photos of many of them including former-ex Ione Skye).

Well, Kiedis is developing a series for HBO based on his unconventional childhood (his first drug experience was at 12, his sexual experiences were also incredibly early with many older women).

“He introduced me to the arts, to a more culturally magnificent life,” Kiedis told Daily Variety. “But some of it was this heavy, adult matter that I wasn’t quite capable of digesting. … It was a very rich but kind of challenging period of my life. I was thrust into this adult mentality by age 11.”

The memoir is more about Kiedis’ rock n’ roll lifestyle (which was said to piss off the rest of RHCP at the time; there are many details about deceased, former Peppers guitarist Hillel Slovak who died of an overdose in 1988), so when producers read “Scar Tissue,” they approached him to write material and share stories from the childhood portion of the book which they felt good be a longer, episodic project. Turns out they were right. Now what 11-year-old, will play a young Anthony Kiedis who gets to bust a nut with some older, semi-sexy junkie? That’s what we wanna know.
