Chris Pratt is on a big publicity tour for his upcoming Pixar animated film, “Onward.” And as if that film wasn’t enough to talk about, it appears that the actor just can’t escape questions about his massive franchises, including the billion-dollar “Jurassic World” films. While speaking on “Ellen,” the actor shed some light on the upcoming third film in the series, and how it reminds him of another blockbuster he recently appeared in.
“Jurassic World 3” is written and directed by Colin Trevorrow, returning to the franchise after he helmed the first film but handed the reins to JA Bayona for ‘The Fallen Kingdom.’ We don’t know much about the plot yet, but it has been announced that actors from the first “Jurassic Park” film, such as Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum, will be returning to face off against the dinosaurs one more time. And for Pratt, this team-up brings to mind that big Marvel film from last year, “Avengers: Endgame.”
When asked by Ellen if this is the end of the ‘Jurassic’ franchise, Pratt played coy, but did his best to hype up the film.
“This feels like it,” the actor explained. “I’m not allowed to say anything… It’s got everybody. It’s got pretty much everybody in it. Maybe I just blew it, but I don’t care. I know all the cast from the original ‘Jurassic Park’ is coming back. It’s going to feel very much like how ‘Endgame’ brought everything together for Marvel.”
He added, “It’s a big one. It’s about close to 100 shoot days. It’s a massive movie. It’s a big movie. We’ll be all over the world. The story is really, really engaging. Really cool. It’s gonna be big.”
With a release date set for June 11, 2021, it’s clear why everyone is about to begin work on “Jurassic World 3.” Obviously, judging by the prestige of the original film series, as well as the box office dominance of the two most recent films, the third ‘World’ film is expected to be one of the biggest hits of next year.
