'The Crow' Reboot Will Never Die, As The Film Enters Active Development...Again

The Crow” is being reborn…again.

Almost two years after the previous attempt (one of many) to reboot “The Crow” franchise died a sudden, if not unsurprising, death, it appears that Hollywood is ready to begin anew. Now, it appears that a new studio is ready to take James O’Barr’s classic comic book series and try, once again, to bring it to the big screen. According to Bloody Disgusting, Davis Films is back at it again, wanting to reboot “The Crow” and is actively developing a new film based on the story authored by O’Barr and previously adapted in the 1994 cult classic from director Alex Proyas and star Brandon Lee. For those unfamiliar, the story follows a down-and-out musician named Eric Draven that is ready to start a new phase of his life by proposing to his girlfriend. However, one night, both are brutally murdered by a gang and Draven is brought back to life to seek vengeance.

The version of the film that was on the verge of getting made in 2018 was set to be directed by Corin Hardy, whose credits include “The Nun” and “The Hallow.” “Aquaman” star Jason Momoa was attached to star and had shared quite a few enthusiastic images on Instagram about the film. However, things fell apart when “financial and creative differences” arose between Davis Films and Sony. Now, it appears that a new director and star will be attached to the project.
