'The Suicide Squad' Actress Daniela Melchior To Join 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3' & Reteam With James Gunn

After her breakout role in “The Suicide Squad,” it would appear Daniela Melchior just can’t stop adding franchises to her upcoming schedule. Not only is Melchior joining Vin Diesel in the “Fast & Furious” universe, but apparently, the actress is ready to reteam with James Gunn on “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.”

According to Deadline, Daniela Melchior is the latest actor to join the new Marvel Studios film, “Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 3.” Though fans have hoped she would join the sequel and even fan-casted her as Marvel hero, Moondragon, the report claims Melchior’s role is small and isn’t related to the aforementioned superhero.

As mentioned, ‘Guardians 3’ marks the reunion between Melchior and her filmmaking friend, James Gunn, who wrote and directed her in “The Suicide Squad,” where she played Ratcatcher 2. It’s that role that really saw the young actress breakout in a big way, with fans falling in love with her kind, though strange character.

The “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” news comes on the heels of Melchior announcing on Instagram that she has joined the new “Fast & Furious” film, “Fast X.” Her role in that film is also being kept under wraps, but she has teased her transformation for “Fast X,” which includes fake tattoos. If you’re keeping track, yes, that means Melchior and Vin Diesel went from being in zero films together to now having two massive blockbuster projects, as the latter famously voices the ‘Guardians’ superhero, Groot.

What’s next for Melchior? As of now, she has roles in the DC, Marvel, and ‘Fast’ universes. Perhaps “Star Wars” is next? Pretty soon, she’ll be the Thanos of film franchises, collecting her jewels and taking over the planet.
