Despite Once Expressing Zero Interest, Rob Zombie Will Direct 'Halloween' Reboot Sequel

Despite his insistent claims that he would have nothing to do with a “Halloween” sequel – we wish we could find a handy quote, but at various times after the original he expressed vehement zero interest – director/musician Rob Zombie is now back for the “Halloween” sequel.

According to Variety, Zombie will direct what is being called, “H2,” the follow-up to his 2007 reboot of the John Carpenter classic.

The film is being done for Dimension films and Zombie once signed a two-picture deal with them, so we kind of don’t doubt, he owes them a picture and this is probably not his first choice, but that’s just speculation.

But Zombie addresses his change of heart. “I was so burned out. (But) I took a long break, made a record and I got excited again,” Zombie told the trade. “Now, we’ll be hauling ass, and that’s the problem making a movie called ‘Halloween’: If you come out Nov. 1 or after, nobody cares. If it was called anything else, I’d be fine.”

Apparently the film even already has a poster. How convenient.
