Edward Norton Joins The Cast Of The ‘Knives Out’ Sequel From Writer-Director Rian Johnson

Obviously, judging by the insanely star-studded cast of the original “Knives Out,” you had to assume writer-director Rian Johnson was going to make sure to somehow at least find a way to equal the star power for his upcoming sequel. That began with the recent news that Dave Bautista has joined Daniel Craig in the cast. And now, it’s beginning to look like Johnson is going to surpass the star power with the addition of Edward Norton.

According to Deadline, Edward Norton is joining the cast of the upcoming “Knives Out” sequel for Netflix. There’s no official title and there’s no official plot for the film, but we do know the next “Knives Out” feature will star Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc, the private detective from the first film. And we have to assume there’s going to be yet another Agatha Christie-esque mystery for Southern gentleman to solve.

Edward Norton isn’t the most prolific actor working today, so it’s good to see him sign up for a new film, regardless of whether it’s a “Knives Out” sequel or not. Most recently, Norton starred in the period drama, “Motherless Brooklyn.” Before that, he showed up in a cameo in “Alita: Battle Angel” and provided voice work for “The Isle of Dogs” and “Sausage Party.” Later this year, he’s expected to appear in the new Wes Anderson film, “The French Dispatch.”

Again, a release date is far from being announced for “Knives Out 2.” But production is expected to begin soon, and if there’s as fast of a turnaround for this one as there was for the original, who knows? Maybe, we’ll see it before the end of 2021. Though, most likely, this has 2022 written all over it.
