Exclusive: Adam Driver, Andrew Garfield Garfield & Martin Scorsese Talk 'Silence' In New Featurette

Over the past decade, Martin Scorsese has given us “The Departed,” “Shutter Island,” “Hugo,” and “The Wolf Of Wall Street,” but this weekend comes something very different from the filmmaker. “Silence” is the director’s decades-long-in-the-making passion project that tackles head-on the struggle of the devout to maintain their faith during life’s most trying times.

Based on the book by Shusaku Endo, the story follows two Christian missionaries (played by Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver) who face the ultimate test of faith when they travel to Japan, where the practice of their faith is outlawed and forbidden, in search of their missing mentor. It’s a powerful film taking on a difficult subject, and in this exclusive featurette, the cast and director share their experiences working together and bringing the film to life.

“Silence” opens nationwide on Friday, January 13th.
