'Fargo' Season 5 Adds Juno Temple, Jon Hamm & Jennifer Jason Leigh To Its Cast

Just when you’re convinced that there is no way FX is going to do another “Fargo” season, the network turns around and gives Noah Hawley the greenlight for a new batch of episodes. And now, as Season 5 of “Fargo,” which was announced back in February, gears up for production, we’re starting to get an idea of which actors will be leading the new ensemble.

According to THR, “Fargo” Season 5 will be led by actors Juno Temple, Jon Hamm, and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Details about the plot aren’t really known at this time, but we do know the actors will be playing characters named Dot, Roy, and Lorraine, respectively. And the tagline for the season is  “When is a kidnapping not a kidnapping, and what if your wife isn’t yours?”

It’s been a year-and-a-half since the end of Season 4 of “Fargo,” which takes place in the ‘50s and stars Chris Rock in the lead role. For Season 5, it appears the series is coming back to the relatively recent times of 2019 for its story. Plot aside, after four incredibly solid, Emmy-worthy seasons, we can’t expect anything less than great with whatever Hawley is cooking up for this new season.

As for the actors, Temple is probably best known nowadays for her Emmy-nominated role in “Ted Lasso.” Most recently, she has appeared in another high-profile series, “The Offer.” Hamm is known for his role in “Mad Men,” and he is always popping up in films and TV series since that show ended its run years ago. Leigh is no stranger to TV, either, having appeared in multiple seasons of “Atypical,” as well as Apple TV+’s “Lisey’s Story” and the forthcoming season of Amazon’s “Hunters.”

A release date for “Fargo” Season 5 is unknown at this time, but a 2023 debut is a safe bet.
