There’s probably some kind of award handed out for movie marketing, and if there is, we really hope someone is campaigning for “Oldboy.” While the jury is still out on Spike Lee‘s remake, full credit to FilmDistrict for truly embracing the the twisted story, and having some fun with it.
After stopping by the New York Comic Con this weekend to do some promo (no, the movie wasn’t shown), today finds a handful of new stills online, including the first look at a scarred Sharlto Copley. But the real fun is in these twenty posters (collected via RecentMoviePosters) — a few of which you’ve seen already — which documentary John Brolin‘s Joe Doucett, and the two decades spent in captivity, with a one-sheet for each year, highlighting a specific event from the founding of Google, to the O.J. Simpsons trial, to Hurricane Katrina, to 9/11. Clever stuff and solid design.
And oh yeah, the movie — it slices open on November 27th.
