4 Character Vignettes Introduce Us To The New ‘Ghostbusters’

If you didn’t know, today is the 32nd anniversary of the original Ghostbusters’ theatrical release. In honor of “Ghostbusters Day,” we are graced with four new vignettes from the upcoming reboot directed by Paul Feig, highlighting each of the new characters.

A lot has been said about the new “Ghostbusters,” good and bad, and it’s possible these vignettes aren’t going to change your mind on this film either way. There are new jokes to be found, and as with the footage we’ve seen so far, some of it is funny and other bits are groan-worthy. Mixed in with the clips are interviews with the actresses explaining each character.

Of the new characters, Kate McKinnon’s Holtzmann intrigues the most. McKinnon seems the most captivating, and we’re all hoping this film really utilizes her comedic talents. Outside of Holtzmann, the other three feel a little familiar. Kristen Wiig’s Erin feels slightly interchangeable with any other Wiig character. Abby, played by Melissa McCarthy, appears to be fine enough. A hunch tells me the most galvanizing character out of the four is going to be Patty, played by Leslie Jones. The actress seems to polarize at times and the character of Patty looks to be Leslie Jones going full Leslie Jones.

The internet is set to blow up on July 15th when “Ghostbusters” is released. Before then, enjoy Ghostbusters Day!
