What is it about Ben Affleck’s name that screams to graphic designers, “Hey, we should put a whole bunch of fucking rectangles on this poster?”
We have no idea.
But whatever it is, Ben Affleck has some kind of Piet Mondrian-esque level of association for artists out there as the French-language poster for his latest directorial effort, “The Town,” is a boring bunch of rectangles with some stills inside, much like his second-to-last film “State Of Play,” which had boring rectangles with stills inside. And don’t ask us to comment on the poster for “Extract,” the last film we saw Affleck in, except to say we’re pretty sure Mila Kunis’ arm isn’t 29 feet long.
“The Town” will make its international debut at the forthcoming Venice Film Festival, before crossing the ocean and unspooling at TIFF. The film hits theaters on September 10th. [IMP Awards]
