'God's Perfect Idiot' Trailer: Melissa McCarthy & Ben Falcone For New Netflix Mini-Series

For those who can’t get enough of the movie collaborations of comedic husband-and-wife duo Melissa McCarthy (“Nine Perfect Strangers“) and Ben Falcone (“Thunder Force“), we have some good news for you — they’re coming together for an eight-episode series on Netflix. The comedy series sees average joe Clark on a mission from God. It’s safe to say that fans can likely expect McCarthy and Falcone’s signature flavor of comedy from this upcoming Netflix original television series.

Leslie Bibb (“Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby“), Kevin Dunn (“Veep“), and Usman Ally (“A Series of Unfortunate Events“) join Falcone and McCarthy in the cast of “God’s Favorite Idiot.” The series was also written and created by Falcone.

Clark Thompson (Ben Falcone) is a mid-level tech support employee, who takes saunas with his dad, Gene (Kevin Dunn), pines after his co-worker Amily (Melissa McCarthy), and loves his cats. When he starts to glow, he begins to realize this isn’t an average day at the office, and God has bigger plans for him. Clark can’t save mankind by himself; he must gather his flock of mismatched co-workers, his longtime crush Amily and angelic allies to outwit Satan herself (Leslie Bibb). Together, they’re just a bunch of average humans coming together for the greater good because, after all, you can’t save the world alone.
