Idris Elba & Gemma Arterton Walk '100 Streets' In New Trailer For 'Crash'-Esque Drama

Released in the UK this week, “100 Streets” was recently picked up by Samuel Goldwyn and is on its way to U.S. cinemas, and a new trailer gives a peek at the drama which nods towards films like “Crash” and “Amores Perros.”

The film is set in London and pulls together a remarkable ensemble cast that includes Idris Elba, Franz Drameh, Ken Stott, Tom Cullen, Charlie Creed-Miles, Kierston Wareing and Gemma Arterton. Despite the ensemble cast, this first trailer focuses exclusively on Max (Elba), a former professional rugby player struggling to keep himself and his marriage to Emily (Arterton) together after he leaves the game. The other storylines include a drug dealer who finds fulfillment as an actor and a cab driver dealing with the consequences of a tragic car accident.

The trailer ends with Stott delivering the powerful line,“Without our passion, it’s very difficult to find our place in the world.” These characters will be trying to recover the passion they lost, or in some cases find passion for the first time. Either way, the audience will certainly relate to the highs and lows unfolding onscreen.

Directed by Jim O’Hanlon, “100 Streets” opens in theaters and On Demand on January 13, 2017.
