As seen in the new teaser for “Insecure” Season 5, Issa Rae is saying goodbye to her new series with a final set of 10 episodes. For those unaware, “Insecure” is created by Rae alongside Larry Wilmore, and tells the story of a Black woman, aptly named Issa (played by Rae), as she navigates her personal and professional lives in Los Angeles. In addition to co-creating and starring in the series, Rae has also written a number of episodes and is one of the producers. Needless to say, this is a very personal project for her.

Joining Rae in the cast for “Insecure” are Yvonne Orji, Jay Ellis, Natasha Rothwell, Amanda Seales, and Courtney Taylor. Just last year, “Insecure” earned eight Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series. And over the course of its run, Rae has earned two Golden Globe nominations, as well as two Emmy nominations for her acting work.
