Ja Rule Is Furious About Dual Fyre Fest Docs & Says He Was "Hustled, Scammed, Bamboozled" As Well

Last week, Hulu and Netflix got into a bit of a tussle over which company had the best documentary about the dumpster fire music event known as the Fyre Festival. Netflix touted it’s “Fyre” as the leading documentary about the subject, with its acclaimed director and access. Hulu, on the other hand, countered with saying “Fyre Fraud” is a deeper dissection about the impact of the disastrous festival. But what no one was really thinking about is how last week, two documentaries debuted to massive audiences that told everyone that Ja Rule was an alleged scam artist. And the rapper isn’t happy about that.

For those that don’t follow music festivals, the Fyre Festival was an attempt by Ja Rule and his business partner (and alleged criminal) Billy McFarland to create the most exclusive, high-class festival on the planet. Situated on a secluded Bahamian island, Fyre was going to be the premier destination for those influential folks that love to be at all the “hottest” events. Of course, what ended up happening is that Ja Rule and McFarland didn’t know the first thing about hosting a music festival and the whole event went down in proverbial flames, as it literally turned into a “Lord of the Flies” scenario with people ransacking each other’s tents and scavaging for food.

But those of you that took to Twitter to tell Ja Rule about how disappointed you are in his terrible business decision, he wants you to know that he’s just as much of a victim as everyone else.

“I had an amazing vision to create a festival like NO OTHER!!! I would NEVER SCAM or FRAUD anyone what sense does that make???” tweeted the rapper.

He continued, “Y’all want it to be me sooo bad it’s crazy… kinda sad!!! the crazy shit is I’m watching the docs in awe myself…”

You see, Ja Rule would love you to think that he was an innocent bystander during all of this and that he just put his name on the festival, and basically nothing more. However, when you watch the docs, you may develop the opinion that he was more hands-on than he’d like to admit.

Rule would also like you to know that both documentaries were skewed, due to who they paid to make the productions happen.

“Hulu PAID BILLY!!! That money should’ve went to the Bahamian ppl Netflix PAID fuck Jerry the same guys that did the promo for the festival… ????????‍♂️” tweeted Rule.

He added, “I too was hustled, scammed, bamboozled, hood winked, lead astray!!!”

Now, as of this writing, it would appear that Rule is still available to answer comments, so you can ask him directly, but it would appear that the moral of the story that the rapper is trying to push out there is that he had no idea what McFarland and the rest were up to. He just wanted to create a great music festival for the fans.

He concluded, “I feel bad for those ppl… but I did not and would never scam ANYONE… period!!! And I don’t care if anyone sympathizes with me or not those are the FACTS!!! ????”

After two recent documentaries about the subject, it’s up to the viewers to develop their own opinion. If you haven’t seen the docs, do yourself a favor and check them out. It’s a truly fascinating story that not only tackles the fraud committed, but also the effect of social media influencers on society.

“Fyre” and “Fyre Fraud” are available to stream now on Netflix and Hulu, respectively.
