According to THR, Janelle Monae is the latest actress to join the growing, star-studded cast of Rian Johnson’s untitled “Knives Out” sequel that is set to arrive on Netflix. There are no plot details revealed just yet, but we know that Daniel Craig is set to return as Benoit Blanc in the upcoming sequel, where presumably he’ll have to solve a crime with a wide array of A-listers playing the suspects. Considering the previous film included a cast filled with folks like Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Christopher Plummer, Michael Shannon, and Toni Collette, Johnson has quite the challenge ahead of him if he wants to outdo himself for the sequel.

Monae is probably best known for her musical endeavors, but over the past several years, she’s started to make a big name for herself in films and TV series. She really broke out as part of the cast of “Hidden Figures.” From there, she’s landed lead roles in the Amazon series, “Homecoming,” as well as the recent thriller, “Antebellum.”
