Tom Waits, RZA & Iggy Pop Join Jim Jarmusch's Stacked Zombie Film Hitting Theaters In June

Rumors have been swirling that filmmaker Jim Jarmusch is putting the finishing touches on his upcoming zombie film, “The Dead Don’t Die.” Many have speculated that the upcoming film might have its official debut at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival. However, considering the official line-up hasn’t been announced, we can tell film fans that for certain, you’ll be able to check out “The Dead Don’t Die” in June, as Focus Features and just confirmed the release date, as well as the cast.

Focus Features has announced that Jarmusch’s latest film will hit theaters in June. In addition, the studio has confirmed the full cast of the film, most of which were already public. However, some new names on the list include musicians Tom Waits, Iggy Pop, and RZA.

For those not aware of “The Dead Don’t Die,” there’s not much to say, at this point. We know that the film was in production last summer, has an incredible cast (which also includes Bill Murray) and features…zombies. Here’s what Murray said about the film last year, “It’s a zombie movie. Jim Jarmusch has written a zombie script that’s so hilarious and it has a cast of great actors…” Yep, that’s about it.

And great actors are aplenty in the film. Joining Murray, Pop, RZA, and Waits are Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Chloë Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Caleb Landry Jones, Rosie Perez, Sara Driver, Selena Gomez, and Carol Kane. That’s not too shabby at all.

We should be hearing word in the coming days on whether or not “The Dead Don’t Die” will make its debut in France next month. However, if it doesn’t, or you’re not able to attend Cannes, Jarmusch’s film will arrive in theaters on June 14.
