You may have noticed pictures of the “Star Wars” character, Obi-Wan Kenobi, floating around recently. Back in January, rumors flooded the “Star Wars” fandom about how the Obi-Wan series was on the brink of cancellation. Disney and Lucasfilm denied the rumors. However, days later, it was revealed that the previous writer, Hossein Amini, had been dropped from the project, and the studio was looking to completely rework the series. Of course, McGregor chimed in and said that everything was blown out of proportion and the series was still on track for filming during the summer. However, it appears the Obi-Wan series is very much still being developed, as a new writer means the series is likely a long way from being filmed.

Harold is probably best known as the writer of the 2017 film, “King Arthur: The Legend of the Sword.” Since then, he’s also written the script for the upcoming Zack Snyder zombie film, “Army of the Dead.” And he’s been hired by Paramount to help develop and write the new “Transformers” reboot project, whatever that looks like.

Add to that the COVID-19 pandemic, and it sure does feel like we’re back at square one with the Obi-Wan series. But hey, maybe Joby Harold is the hope we’re looking for.
