Do you like “John Wick?” How about its sequel, “John Wick: Chapter 2?” Guess what? You’re probably going to really enjoy “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.” Shocking, right?
While the review embargo has yet to lift on the upcoming Keanu Reeves action spectacle, the early reactions are in, and unsurprisingly, people are really digging the new entry in the ‘John Wick’ franchise. But then again, as mentioned above, is there any way that fans of the first two films are ever going to hate this franchise?

There really isn’t anything else like ‘Wick.’ Sure, we’ve seen imitators, but nothing has been to truly replicate the energy of the franchise, the charisma of Reeves, and the world-building that has made the ‘Wick’ franchise live in its own realm of action cinema that has no equals. So, even if the third film is “more of the same,” that “more” is exactly what many film fans are just asking for. Give us more Reeves action, throw in a dog (or two), and one awesome new set piece (sword fighting on motorcycles should do the trick), and we’re satisfied.
That being said, there is some incredibly high praise going around the Twitterverse that is making people think that maybe the third ‘John Wick’ might actually be extra special.
Our own Griffin Schiller absolutely fell in love with the new entry, saying, “HOLY GOD. This movie kicks so much ass! An adrenaline rush w/striking visuals, intricate choreography and action set pieces. Continues to expand the mythology. It’s The Raid 2 meets Assassin’s Creed (games).”
Whenever a film fan brings up an action movie and “The Raid” franchise in the same sentence, you know they’re talking top-shelf entertainment.
Overall, it appears that action fans will have yet another chance to worship at the altar of Reeves and director Chad Stahelski, when “John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum” hits theaters on May 17.
Here are some more reactions:
Well I guess the social embargo lifted…I was referring to #JohnWick3 HOLY GOD. This movie kicks so much ass! An adrenaline rush w/striking visuals, intricate choreography and action set pieces. Continues to expand the mythology. It’s The Raid 2 meets Assassin’s Creed (games) https://t.co/0Wbodptmaj

#JohnWick3 is yet another round of kick assed action, and intriguing world building. Keanu Reeves continues to clean up & the stunt bar has been raised yet again. There are so many places this franchise could go from here, and all of them are exciting. pic.twitter.com/bZZXtxVdYm

#JohnWick3 is AWESOME. Some of the action set pieces are so insane you’ll wonder how director Chad Stahelski and his team filmed them. Saying that, the @Halleberry/#KeanuReeves set piece featuring her dogs might be my favorite. Wait till you see this one. Esp if you like dogs… pic.twitter.com/ym2Tn012xw

Oh, and #JohnWick3 is another gorgeous and inventive action extravaganza. I think JW2 is a "better" movie, but this one is completely entertaining and a living video game. #KeanuReeves is once again a force of nature. He actually looks his age, which adds to the pathos. pic.twitter.com/qAojlFhV5n

#JohnWick3: A eye-popping, jaw-dropping, show-stopping killer. Extends world-building dynamics beautifully, but also assigns meaningful resonance to character-driven action. Keanu Reeves is perfect, @AsiaKateDillon is magnetic & @halleberry kicks ass. ❤️’d every stellar minute! pic.twitter.com/cIBF61IZK1

Onto my proper #JohnWick3 reaction: Pure visceral cinema. After the dramatic world expansion of CHAPTER 2, CHAPTER 3 returns to a leaner, exhilarating story chock full of breathless, bone-crunching action and even a few laughs. I was sweating 30 minutes in. This movie RULES.

More reactions! Finally allowed to say that #JohnWick3 is hands down the best of the three movies. Ridiculously inventive fight scenes, lots more world building & great villains. There is a knife fight in this movie that is aces. Also, Halle Berry’s character needs her own series pic.twitter.com/Tp3xWrK82d

Some of the storytelling and character decisions left me scratching my head and questioning motivations when I left the theater, but that won't stop me from going back for the inevitable John Wick: Chapter 4.
