Johnny Depp Will Solve Crime With Gwyneth Paltrow & Ewan McGregor In 'Mortdecai'

Gwyneth Paltrow

Well, if you put Johnny Depp in the center of a movie, other stars will likely orbit. As he gears up his next film, the comedy crime flick “Mortdecai,” he’s got a couple of magazine cover ready names getting ready to join him.

Variety reports that Gwyneth Paltrow and Ewan McGregor are in talks for the film, set to be directed by David Koepp (who previously collaborated with Depp on “Secret Window” – no comment…well actually, here’s a few). Based on the series of books by Kyril Bonfiglioli, the film will tell the story of an art dealer/rogue who somehow gets mixed up in a plot involving Nazi gold, the Russians, the MI5 and more. No word yet on the roles of his co-stars, though we presume everyone involved will be playing some version of dress-up given the rather elaborate setting.

Lensing will get underway before the end of the year, but first Depp will need to finish singing in Rob Marshall‘s forthcoming fairy tale musical “Into The Woods.”
