Jude Law Joins Werner Herzog's 'Queen Of The Desert' With Naomi Watts & Robert Pattinson

Jude LawWell, we're breathing a bit of a sigh of relief. Just over a week ago it was reported that Werner Herzog's "next project" would be an adaptation of DBC Pierre's "Vernon God Little." It made us a bit worried that his Gertrude Bell biopic had been put on ice, but not only is it still moving, it has a new cast member and a start date on the horizon.

Jude Law has come on board the film, joining Naomi Watts and Robert Pattinson. Penned by Herzog as well, the film will tell the true story of Gertrude Bell (Watts) – the traveler, writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer, and political attaché for the British Empire at the dawn of the twentieth century. Pattinson will play T.E. Lawrence, aka Lawrence Of Arabia, who worked with Bell to establish the Hashemite dynasties in Jordan and Iraq. No word yet on Law's role. But damn, this cast is shaping up pretty nicely and it will be a reunion for Law and Watts, who worked together on David O. Russell's "I Heart Huckabees."

The actor wil be having a bit of a Euro trip in 2013, kicking off the year shooting Wes Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel" in Germany before going to Morocco to lens this picture in March 2013. Nice work if you can get it. [Deadline]
