John Wick Vs Buzz Lightyear? Tim Allen Confirms Keanu Reeves Has Been Added To 'Toy Story 4' Cast

Recently, we saw the premiere of two little teasers for the upcoming film “Toy Story 4.” As you might expect from any Pixar film, let alone the fourth in a series that is so beloved by fans, the teasers were watched millions of times, as people just can’t seem to wait to see what adventures Woody and Buzz Lightyear will get into next. Enter actor Tim Allen. The voice of Buzz Lightyear recently appeared on TV and dropped some hints, as well as a surprising new member of the cast.

Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on the “Tonight Show,” Allen discussed what it was like working on “Toy Story 4,” and why he was so touched with the very emotional final scene. “It’s a Scarlett/’I don’t give a damn!’ moment,” Allen said.

He’s, of course, referencing the iconic line from “Gone with the Wind.” Allen continues, “It’s so deep, moving. A wonderful plot.” And as is the case with every Disney film, there are no secrets slipping out of Allen’s mouth. Well, except for one — Keanu Reeves is joining the cast.

“Keanu Reeves has got a great part. Actually, a little inside story, even he said – gentle, wonderful guy that he is – ‘This sounds too much like Buzz Lightyear’ and his character does have an edge to that, and the guy said, ‘So we calmed him down a little bit’,” Allen said.

Obviously, nothing is known about who Reeves might voice in the film. Clearly, Reeves will lend his voice to a new toy, and judging by his comments, that toy will probably be a bit of an action-oriented character. And given Reeves’ most recent hit franchise, “John Wick,” we’re 100% here for any John Wick-ian type of toy to enter the “Toy Story” universe.

Perhaps, they’ll strike a deal with Funko Pop! and just let Disney use the John Wick character’s vinyl toy. Yes, “Toy Story 4” is aimed primarily at young children, but who wouldn’t want to see Wick headshotting everything in his path? Okay, maybe just me. But still!

“Toy Story 4” hits theaters June 21, 2019.
