Lead Actress In A Drama Series Emmys 2022 Predictions & Contenders

Can anyone beat Zendaya? That is the question for the Emmys as the “Euphoria” star looks to land her second Lead Actress in a Drama Series statue over the past three ceremonies. At this point, she’ll face some competition from four-time winner and seven-time nominee Laura Linney of “Ozark,” but the rest of the field is unclear.

Both one-time winner Jodie Comer and previous nominee Sandra Oh could earn nominations for “Killing Eve,” but that onetime buzzworthy series went out on a sour note with its fourth and final season. Melanie Lynskey is seen as a lock by many for “Yellowjackets,” but the series barely made an impact during guild season, only landing WGA nods. Jennifer Aniston earned a nod for the first season of “The Morning Show,” but can she really repeat? Oscar-winner Patricia Arquette should be a lock for her incredible work in “Severance.” The question is, will enough members watch it in time for voting? That’s also a concern for longtime Emmy favorite Elizabeth Moss and her new series “Shining Girls.” Carrie Coon was one of the highlights of “The Gilded Age,” but was it enough to break through the content clutter?
