The more these comic book universes continue to expand, the more obscure the characters plucked from the pages of the source material seem to be. Granted, I’m not a big comics guy to begin with, but still, I can’t be the only one who doesn’t know who Pierce is. Today it has been revealed that’s who the villain of “Logan” will be, played by Boyd Holbrook, and after some basic hunting around, all you need to know is that he’s a cyborg linked to The Hellfire Club. But more crucially, he’s the brains behind the cyborg army known as the Reavers.

Way back in the spring, rumors sprouted up that Wolverine would be facing off against those mutant killing machines. At the time, the speculation was that Richard E. Grant would be in the role of Donald Pierce, but while the casting guess was wrong, though the character was certainly right on the money. Plus, the official studio wording of the synopsis for the third Wolverine movie has been that Logan will face off against a “global enterprise,” which could indeed hint at the Hellfire Club.
Anyway, check out a first look at Pierce below, along with old man Patrick Stewart as Professor X and a couple more snaps. “Logan” opens on March 3, 2017.
