Miles Teller Lands Role Of Goose's Son In 'Top Gun 2'

The search for the Son of Goose is now over! The Hollywood Reporter says that actor Miles Teller has landed the role of Goose’s son in “Top Gun 2.” Does that mean sure death for Miles Teller’s character in the film? Let’s hope not because I’m not sure I can handle two Geese dying in a jet.

Teller joins the sequel that already has Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer returning as Maverick and Iceman, respectively. Not much is known about the actual plot of the film, however, reports say that Cruise’s hotshot pilot character is now a flight instructor dealing with an ever-changing technological world with drones being a reality.

As we mentioned recently, the role of Goose’s son was hotly contested, with Teller fighting the likes of Nicholas Hoult, Glen Powell, Dylan O’Brien, and Austin Butler to land the coveted role. Judging solely on appearance, considering we have no idea what the son will actually do in the film, Teller looks like a fine addition to the cast, considering he does have a slight resemblance to Goose actor Anthony Edwards.

“Top Gun 2” teams Cruise with director Joseph Kosinski for the second time. The duo previously worked together on the sci-fi action film “Oblivion.” But you’d be forgiven if you forgot that, as that film has not really been one of Cruise’s best offerings.

Cruise is about to see the release of the fifth “Mission: Impossible” film, and is currently in production of “Top Gun 2.” Teller is coming off “Thank You for Your Service” and “Only the Brave,” where he teamed up with Kosinski. He’ll next been seen in the Nicholas Winding Refn series “Too Old to Die Young.”
