So, this year “Game of Thrones” started airing prior to San Diego Comic Con, which made Friday’s big GoT panel a less-than-streamlined event. And while there wasn’t a hotly anticipated season trailer to reveal, HBO did release a “weeks ahead” Comic-Con trailer which has some tantalizing morsels of Westeros action for us Throneheads to pore over while we wait impatiently for the next episode of the show to air literally in two days.
The trailer has Jon Snow talking about Daenerys’ dragons, indicating that the two fan-favorite characters could finally meet in an upcoming episode. Once that happens, it’s only a matter of time before the show ends with Jon and Dany flying into King’s Landing on the backs of Dany’s Dragons, brutally executing Cersei, and having explicit HBO sex on the Iron Throne. Fade to black, the end.
Alternatively, the show will conclude with White Walkers killing all of our favorite characters and us being forced to watch as Tyrion and Arya are lasciviously disemboweled by the Night King.
“Game of Thrones” airs on HBO, Sunday nights at 9pm EST.
