New Trailer For Leonardo DiCaprio-Produced Documentary 'The Ivory Game' Shines A Light On Endangered Elephants

Leonardo DiCaprio wears his environmental activism badge proudly, and has been passionate about issues that affect the planet, but it’s not just something he does when he’s not making movies. As a producer, DiCaprio was behind the acclaimed “Virunga,” and this weekend he investigates climate change on the big screen in “Before The Flood,” which opens in limited release. Now he’s got another documentary coming, “The Ivory Game,” which shines a light on elephants.

Prized for their ivory, elephants have been the target of poachers for years, even as laws regarding their protection have continued to grow strong. And the film from directors Kief Davidson and Richard Ladkani focuses on the wide-ranging efforts that are underway to save the lives of these gentle giants. Here’s the official synopsis:

Elephants are disappearing at the staggering rate of 1 every 15 minutes. Their deaths are fueled by the illegal ivory trade, a dangerous network of violence and corruption that a brave and dedicated few are daring to dismantle. THE IVORY GAME exposes the dark world of ivory trafficking from the planes of Africa to the streets of China. By working with undercover intelligence organizations, activists, frontline rangers and conservationists to infiltrate the corrupt global network of ivory trafficking, the film inspires both outrage and hope.

“The Ivory Game” debuts on Netflix on November 4th.
