'Nine Perfect Strangers' Trailer: The Journey Of Wellness With Nicole Kidman & A Starry A-List Cast Begins In August On Hulu

First of all, you need to know that the cast of Hulu‘s “Perfect Strangers” and creator David E. Kelly aren’t playing around. The upcoming series stars Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Bobby Cannavale, Regina Hall, Samara Weaving, Melvin Gregg, Asher Keddie, Grace Van Patten, Tiffany Boone, and Manny Jacinto.

How did the show get this gigantic cast? Well, Kelley is a giant in television as a television writer, producer, having created and worked on shows like “L.A. Law,” “Ally McBeal,” “Chicago Hope,” “Dougie Howser,” and more. But his stock kinda leveled off in the 2000s (though still incredibly successful) and then shot up again in a major way after creating and writing “Big Little Lies” for HBO. That series was obviously a major hit and further destigmatized the idea of big stars being on a television series (Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon starring in a TV series was a big deal in 2017, even though it’s commonplace now).

“Big Little Lies” led to HBO’s prestige TV murder mystery “The Undoing” (also with Kidman), and clearly, she’s on the Kelley train again for “Nine Perfect Strangers.” Created by Kelley and John-Henry Butterworth, “Nine Perfect Strangers,” is based on the New York Times bestselling book by author Liane Moriarty, takes place at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living. Watching over them during this 10-day retreat is the resort’s director, Masha (Kidman), a woman on a mission to reinvigorate their tired minds and bodies. However, these nine “perfect” strangers have no idea what is about to hit them.
