Listen, DC Comics and Warner Bros., we understand that Ryan Reynold’s “Green Lantern” costume is going to be all post-production CGI wizardry and we know you’re are eager to get buzz building on your big 2011 summer tentpole, but your efforts so far have been painfully dull.
If you’re going to give fans a first taste of “Green Lantern” we think it would’ve been better to wait until you have a least one picture of Reynolds in a completed costume, rather than release a bunch of pictures that can all be pretty much captioned: SOME PEOPLE STANDING AROUND. As such, the first batch of stills, and the EW cover of Reynolds in costume (that was later played down as a “work in progress” after fans scoffed at what they saw) did little to build anticipation. And yet another still, this one of Reynolds and love interest Blake Lively looking at each other, is possibly the least thrilling yet. Listen WB PR team: cool it for now until you have something real to show off.
