When a journalist is in the middle of an investigation, there’s not much they can share with people not involved. At least, until the news breaks. And that’s especially the case when you’re investigating one of the biggest politicians that may or may not be caught on video smoking crack. So, as shown in our exclusive clip from the film “Run This Town,” dinner conversation can be a bit of a dicey situation.
With “Run This Town” arriving in theaters and VOD this week, we’re happy to give our readers a peek at the film with a new, exclusive clip from the film. As mentioned above, “Run This Town” follows the story of a young journalist, Bram, that is tipped off that politician Rob Ford is shown in a video using narcotics. Of course, as seen in the clip, the potentially big story might all be fake as well.
Of course, if you are familiar with the Rob Ford situation, you know that the video not only exists and is real, it also brought down the controversial politician and became one of the biggest news stories of the last decade.
The drama stars Ben Platt, Mena Massoud, Nina Dobrev, Scott Speedman, Gil Bellows, Jennifer Ehle, and Damian Lewis. Ricky Tollman wrote and directed the film, making his feature-length debut.

Here’s the synopsis:
A young journalist and a young political aide become entangled in a larger-than-life political scandal as they struggle to navigate adult life. Like all their friends, Bram and Kamal are struggling to climb the ladders at their respective workplaces: Bram at a newspaper, Kamal at City Hall. When Bram learns of a scandal involving Kamal’s larger-than-life boss, he seizes the moment to advance his career. Meanwhile, Kamal grapples with containing the story while maintaining his integrity.
