A Star Is Born, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Top SAG Awards 2019 Nominations

The Screen Actors Guild announced the nominees for the 25th SAG Awards today and specifically on the film side, broad, big hits and familiar names ruled the day.

“A Star is Born” led all films with four nominations including Ensemble, Best Actor (Bradley Cooper), Best Actress (Lady Gaga) and Best Supporting Actor (Sam Elliott). “BlacKkKlansman” took three nods including Best Actor (John David Washington), Best Supporting Actor (Adam Driver) and Ensemble. “The Favourite” also took three nods including Best Actress (Olivia Colman) and two Best Supporting Actress nods (Rachel Weisz, Emma Stone). Somehow it didn’t warrant an Ensemble nomination. The other two players in that category were “Black Panther,” “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Crazy Rich Asians.”

Notable snubs this year included “If Beale Street Could Talk” on the film side and “Homecoming” on the television side.
