'The Secret: Dare To Dream' Trailer: The Self-Help Bestseller Hits Theaters Starring Katie Holmes

A little more than a decade ago, the self-help book, “The Secret,” became a worldwide phenomenon. And when we say phenomenon, we mean it, as the book appeared on the New York Times best-seller list for 190 weeks. Everywhere you looked, people were raving about this book that would change your life. Well, naturally, Hollywood came calling and now, “The Secret: Dare to Dream” is about to hit theaters.

And in the first trailer for ‘Dare to Dream,’ we see that the film definitely has that feel-good energy that made the book such a hit, as the story follows a young widow with three kids that comes across a mysterious man after a simple fender-bender. Instead of being mad, the man she rear-ended offers to fix her car for free, as well as her roof after a major storm. He then starts talking about this mysterious energy that attracts things that you can’t see or feel. As you might expect, the family thinks he’s a bit of a kook. But the real mystery of the film is what secret he has sealed in a manilla envelope that could change everything.

The film stars Katie Holmes and Josh Lucas. It’s directed by Andy Tennant, who co-wrote the script with Bekah Brunstetter and Rick Parks.

“The Secret: Dare to Dream” arrives in theaters on April 17.
