Simon Kinberg Confirms R-Rating For "Radical, Bold" 'Wolverine 3'

Thankfully, following the smash hit success of “Deadpool,” Hollywood has fallen over themselves to greenlight a bunch of R-rated comic book movies. Most seem to recognize that it made sense for the mouthy, rude character, but that it’s not a one-size fit all stamp. Still, 20th Century Fox are hoping they make Hugh Jackman‘s next and last turn as Wolverine memorable by letting the movie go hog wild.

Production has started on the tentatively titled “Wolverine 3,” directed by James Mangold, and the rumor for a while now is that it would be stamped with an R-rating. And producer Simon Kinberg has now confirmed that’s the plan.

“It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film,” he told Collider, adding that the Wolverine in this movie is more “radical” and “bold” than what we’ve seen before. So, bigger mutton chops then?

All kidding aside, let’s hope there’s an organic reason for Wolverine to be rolling with swears and boobs, and not just an attempt by Fox to blindly stake similar territory to “Deadpool.” Let us know what you think about Logan getting a chance to really flex his fangs in the comments section.
