'On My Skin' Trailer: Venice Selection Tells The True Story Of The Controversial Arrest Of Stefano Cucchi

Netflix made headlines recently when it was announced that the streaming giant would have 6 films premiering at the upcoming Venice Film Festival. While most of the news surrounded the new films from filmmakers Alfonso Cuaron, Paul Greengrass, and Orson Welles, Italy’s “On My Skin” flew under the radar. The new film from director Alessio Cremonini will have its day at Venice, and now, we have a first look at the drama.

“On My Skin” tells the true story of Stefano Cucchi. In the teaser, we meet Stefano, played by Alessandro Borghi, as he’s being placed in prison and arraigned for his crimes. The teaser is short, only showing just a bit of footage, but we can tell that there’s something more to the story than just what can be seen in an episode of “Law & Order.” And if you read the below synopsis or know the controversial case already, then you know that the teaser does a great job of hinting at the real drama surrounding Cucchi. But if you don’t know, then we recommend going in blind.

The film is directed by Alessio Cremonini, who is best known for his previous film that he wrote and directed, titled “Border.” With “On My Skin,” Cremonini directs, as well as shares writing credits with Lisa Nur Sultan.

And since “On My Skin,” is premiering at Venice, but being released by Netflix, film fans are lucky enough to not have to wait long to see the film for themselves. If you’re not able to make the film’s premiere, then Netflix will be releasing “On My Skin” worldwide on September 12.

Here’s the official synopsis:
