UFC Fighter Oleg Taktarov must be thrilled to be starring in “Predators,” so you can imagine his desire to chronicle his experiences on a major motion picture. Unfortunately, the studio system prefers to control the flow of information, so when a series of photos allegedly belonging to Taktarov hit the net, you could feel Fox execs start to sweat bullets about this pretty thorough leak of a couple of sets, cast members, and more importantly costume designs of the new Predator creatures.
Amongst the photos, you get first look at stars Adrien Brody, Topher Grace (apparently aware he shouldn’t be seen in this round of photos), Alice Braga, Walton Goggins and Mahershalalhazbaz Ali, along with a potential spoiler revealing the fate of one minor cast member and a pretty good look at the fancy (not really) new Predator duds alongside producer/possible ghostdirector Robert Rodriguez. The sets appear to be a low-fi creation of a Predator homeworld mentioned in early script drafts, but we’re guessing director Nimrod Antal will take a page from Rodriguez’ playbook and CGI that muh’fuh into existence.
As far as blockbuster leaks, this is less like the plot-altering spoilers of “Terminator Salvation” and more like the early toy designs of “G.I. Joe” villains, but still, you’d have to believe Oleg is going to make like Gilbert Arenas and disappear from the internet for the time being. “Predators” sees release July 7th.
