Millie Bobby Brown Jokes About The Massive 'Stranger Things' Cast: "You Need To Start Killing People Off"

“Stranger Things” creators, the Duffer Brothers, recently revealed their hit Netflix series wasn’t originally planned to go beyond one season. Four seasons later, and a fourth season cut into two parts, perhaps some of the cast is getting a little impatient too and perhaps thinks the cast has gotten too sprawling. In a recent interview, Eleven actress Millie Bobby Brown told The Wrap that the ensemble cast is “way too big” and someone needs to go.

“Last night we couldn’t even take one group picture because there were like 50 of us. I was like, you need to start killing people off,” Brown said, seemingly joking, but maybe with some truth to the statement.

The actress suggested Netflix and the Duffers need to take a ruthless page from the “Game of Thrones” playbook, with fan-favorite characters being axed to keep the story more interesting and tensions high.

“We need to have the mindset of ‘Game of Thrones,’” Brown joked. “Kill me off! They tried killing David Harbour off and they brought him back! It’s ridiculous…The Duffer Brothers are sensitive Sallies who don’t want to kill anybody off.”

Though the “Stranger Things” was candid about weeding out the herd a little bit, Brown has stated she’s scared of coming across as commanding to the audience and haters. “I am scared to vocalize anything that I want, because it always turns into ‘Millie Bobby Brown demands this storyline.’ I’m just going to say I trust the Duffer Brothers and their creative process,”

The creators of the show, the Duffer Brothers recently spoke to Netflix’s magazine, Queue, about season four and revealed some of its genre-aping intentions. “They’re not kids anymore — they really are full-blown teenagers,” Matt Duffer said. “That’s why this season we leaned more into horror. We figured they should be in their own [version] of ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ basically.”

Season four will be split into two parts, Volume 1 has already debuted on Netflix and Volume 2 will premiere on July 1, 2022. The series is set to end after the fifth season, however, there are rumors of a spinoff in the works. Watch the interview below.
