“Mr. Malcolm’s List”
Based on Suzanne Allain’s novel, “Mr. Malcolm’s List” follows an arrogant, rich bachelor who is searching for a perfect wife. No, this isn’t the new season of “Bridgerton,” but if you enjoyed that you’ll certainly enjoy this historical romance. In 2019, Refinery29 released a short of the same name to introduce the story, starring Gemma Chan, Sope Dirisu, and Freida Pinto, all of whom are expected to reprise their roles. The film also stars Theo James, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Zawe Aston, and Ashley Park.

“Thor Love and Thunder”
Now in retirement, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) goes on a self-discovery journey hoping for inner peace. His quest gets interrupted by Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) and his mission to make the gods extinct. If Thor is going to win this battle though, he is going to need help, which he enlists from Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waiti), and his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). Taika Waiti directs, and Russell Crowe co-stars as do the “Guardians Of The Galaxy” cast.

“Both Sides of the Blade”
Sara and her husband Jean have been together for years. Their love is strong but is being threatened by the reemergence of someone from their past. “Both Sides of The Blade” comes from the iconic French sensualist filmmaker Claire Denis, who also has another film (“Stars At Noon“) debuting at Cannes this year. Juliette Binoche, Vincent Lindon, and Gregorire Colin star (read our review).

“The Gray Man”
After years of development (one version by director James Gray, starring Brad Pitt), the assassin thriller “The Gray Man” comes to the screen via former Marvel filmmakers Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, utilizing their same ‘Avengers’ screenwriters Christopher Markus and, Stephen McFeely. Ryan Gosling stars as an anonymouse CIA operative who’s identity is exposed when he accidentally uncovers dark agency secrets, and a psychopathic former colleague (Chris Evans) comes after him. The all-star cast also features Ana de Armas, Regé-Jean Page, Jessica Henwick, Dhanush, Billy Bob Thornton, and Alfre Woodard.
Release Date: July 15, 2022, in theaters, July 22, on Netflix.

“Where the Crawdads Sing”
Based on Delia Owens’ best-selling debut novel, this film tells the story of a woman who raised herself in the isolated marshes of the South and becomes a suspect in the murder of a man she used to be involved with. “Where the Crawdads Sing” is being adapted by Reese Witherspoon‘s production company, directed by Olivia Newman, and stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Garret Dillahunt, and Harris Dickinson.

“Summering”
On the brink of starting middle school, four girls struggle with the harsh realities of growing up. Directed by by James Ponsoldt and co-written with Benjamin Percy, the film is said to ask new questions about life as its characters come face to face with death. The film stars Lia Barnett, Madalen Mills, Eden Grace Redfield, Sanai Victoria, Lake Bell, and Sarah Cooper (read our review).

“Persuasion”
After years in theatre, including directing many a filmed live-play, director Carrie Cracknell makes the jump to feature-filmmaking with “Persuasion,” based on the novel of the same name by Jane Austen.  Dakota Johnson, Henry Golding, Cosmo Jarvis, Suki Waterhouse, Nikki Amuka-Bird and Richard E. Grant star in a story about of a second chance, the reawakening of love between a man and woman whom she had previously been persuaded not to marry.

“Nope”
Academy Award winner Jordan Peele is back this summer with another Daniel Kaluuya-led film. The film centers around the caretakers of a California ranch when they encounter a mysterious force that affects both human and animal behavior. Along with Kaluuya, the film stars Steven Yuen, Keke Palmer, and Michael Wincott.

“Bullet Train”
Based on the Japanese novel by Kōtarō Isaka, “Bullet Train” is a mystery thriller. A trained assassin known as Ladybug (Brad Pitt) wants to leave the assassin’s life behind but is pulled back in by Maria Beetle (Sandra Bullock), his handler, to collect a briefcase from a bullet train. Directed by David Leitch, the all-star cast features Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Brian Tyree Henry, Andrew Koji, Hiroyuki Sanada, Michael Shannon, Bad Bunny, Zazie Beetz, Logan Lerman, and many more.

“Vengeance”
An American horror thriller film produced by Blumhouse Productions, the film is the directorial debut of filmmaker/writer/actor B. J. Novak. It’s not his first foray into this medium as last year Novak debut FX on Hulu‘s “The Premise,” an anthology series he created wrote and directed most of himself. He stars in this one — about an NYC radio host who travels down south to o investigate the murder of his girlfriend—alongside Issa Rae, Ashton Kutcher, Boyd Holbrook, Dove Cameron.
