Surprise, Surprise, 'Twilight' Sequel Officially Greenlit

As you’d expect, as soon as those “Twilight” numbers rolled in on Friday (and it made back its budget that day), the sequel, “New Moon” was officially greenlit by Summit. [THR]

Justin Theroux says work on the “Iron Man 2” script has yielded a first draft so far. “We’re sort of there. It’s just sort of chugging along,” he says adding that the rumors that the War Machine character (now inhibited by Don Cheadle) is being scaled back is “nonsense.” [UGO]

Tim Blake Nelson says he will battle the Hulk as the leader in “Incredible Hulk 2” — with or without Ed Norton that is if they make it. “I’m signed on to do ‘Hulk 2’ and ‘3’ whether Edward’s there or not, so it’s not even up to me,” he explained. “When I agreed to do ‘Hulk,’ I signed off for two sequels, so it’s a moot question. I certainly hope Edward is on the sequel — but that’s up to Marvel and Edward.” [Splashpage]
New image of “Australia” have been released. Its Oscar hopes might be in doubt, but its prettiness (and presumably cinematography chances) is never in question. See more of them over at Film School Rejects.

Hugh Jackman talked about “X-Men: First Class,” but knows nothing about it, but says he looks forward to seeing. [IGN]
