Taylor Sheridan's 'Those Who Wish Me Dead,' Starring Angelina Jolie, Arriving On HBO Max/Theaters In May

Believe it or not, it’s been four years since we’ve seen a new feature directed by Taylor Sheridan. After wowing audiences as a screenwriter, Sheridan broke out as a filmmaker with the 2017 film, “Wind River.” That thriller caught the attention of many film fans, but then it’s been fairly quiet for Sheridan, in terms of features. Well, thankfully, that’s drought is coming to an end this year with “Those Who Wish Me Dead,” his new neo-Western that is arriving in May.

We’ve known for quite a while that “Those Who Wish Me Dead” was coming in 2021, as WarnerMedia has been quick to promote it as part of the studio’s Warner Bros. film lineup that is debut on HBO Max at the same time as theaters. However, thanks to a report from Deadline, we know the film is actually now arriving on May 14. So, those who have been waiting for the latest Sheridan film won’t have to wait too much longer.

“Those Who Wish Me Dead” stars Angelina Jolie, Nicholas Hoult, Jon Bernthal, Tyler Perry, Aidan Gillen, Medina Senghore, Finn Little, and Jake Weber. The film is described as a neo-Western that follows a woman dealing with a wildfire in Montana. Exact plot details aren’t known at this time, but we can only assume there is another part of the film that we just don’t know about yet, as Sheridan is apt to add crime elements to a lot of his features.

Though “Wind River” is his last feature, Sheridan has been busy over the past several years as the creator of the hit series “Yellowstone,” which he also has written and directed. Prior to that, he was best known as a writer, with features like “Sicario,” “Hell or High Water,” and “Sicario: Day of the Soldado” under his belt. He’s also listed as a writer on the upcoming Michael B. Jordan film, “Without Remorse.”

As mentioned, “Those Who Wish Me Dead” will arrive in theaters and HBO Max on May 14.
