Terror & Race Collide In First Trailer For Jordan Peele's Directorial Debut 'Get Out'

With “Key & Peele” behind him, Jordan Peele could’ve easily coasted on his comedy bonafides for his directorial debut, but instead, he’s turned toward horror. It was an interesting move, and the results look to be just as fascinating in “Get Out,” which dropped its first trailer today and looks like it could be an early horror treat in 2017.

Starring “Sicario” supporting cast member Daniel Kaluuya, “Girls” veteran Allison Williams, Catherine KeenerBradley Whitford, Caleb Landry Jones, and Keith Stanfield, the film centers on Chris and Rose, an interracial couple who journey to the suburbs to meet the latter’s parents. But what they encounter is something they never expected, and goes far beyond “Who’s Coming To Dinner?“. Here’s the official synopsis:

Now that Chris (Daniel Kaluuya, Sicario) and his girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams, Girls), have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with Missy (Catherine Keener, Captain Phillips) and Dean (Bradley Whitford, The Cabin in the Woods).

At first, Chris reads the family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter’s interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he could have never imagined.

“Get Out” opens on February 24, 2017.
