If you somehow avoided the Marvel Studios marketing machine, “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” picks up from the events of 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame.” In that film, Steve Rogers retires as Captain America and passes the shield to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), aka Falcon. “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” tells the story of what comes next, as Sam Wilson wrestles with the idea of becoming the new Captain America while his buddy Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), aka Winter Soldier, has to come to terms with his bloody past. All of this is happening as a new terrorist group known as the Flag Smashers starts their plan to disrupt the world’s governments through the use of the resurfaced Super Soldier Serum.
