'The Time Traveler's Wife' Trailer: Theo James & Rose Leslie Star In Steven Moffat's Sci-Fi Romance

We live in a time when everything gets remade or revived, even if its first iteration was just remotely successful. And sure, “The Time Traveler’s Wife” is based on a beloved novel by Audrey Niffenegger, but most people will recognize it from the late-2000s drama starring Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams. Regardless of how you know about the story, it’s being adapted one more time, now as a new HBO series.

As seen in the new trailer for “The Time Traveler’s Wife,” Theo James stars in the lead role as, well, a time traveler who is married to his loving wife, played by Rose Leslie. As if being married wasn’t hard enough, the couple has to deal with the fact that the husband is sometimes defying the laws of space and time, which can put a strain on any relationship.

The pilot episode is directed by David Nutter, who is a veteran of TV work. He’s probably best known for his episodes of “Game of Thrones,” as well as shows such as “Shameless” and “Entourage.” “The Time Traveler’s Wife” is written and produced by Steven Moffat, who is famously the man who helped relaunch “Doctor Who” back in the early 2000s, as well as crafting “Sherlock.”

“The Time Traveler’s Wife” premieres May 15 on HBO and HBO Max. You can watch the trailer below.

Here’s the synopsis:
