UNKLE's Remix Of 'X-Files: I Want To Believe' Might Be The Only Marginally Interesting Thing About This Movie

Fans want to believe that “X-Files: I Want To Believe” will be interesting. The studio behind this thins is praying that more than 10 people remember and or care about this TV series.

In news that’s marginally more interesting than the film, the group UNKLE (now featuring James Lavelle and newer addition Pablo Clements) recently remixed the theme song for “The X-Files: I Want To Believe” written by composer Mark Snow, the musician behind the TV series’ original theme (which we can’t even remember to whistle for the life of us).

The soundtrack is due today, July 22, it features Snow’s score plus the UNKLE track “Broken” and the Xzibit song “Dying 2 Live” (the rapper also has an appearance in the film that no one cares about). The film, which needs all the help in the world, is due August 1.

Trying not to be too disrespectful, The Hollywood Reporter uses softball euphemisms to skirt around the movie’s inevitable doom and gently says – in a massive understatement – that the ‘X-Files’ film “faces marketing awareness challenges” and wonders aloud if the project is even viable and relevant anymore (the answer for those keeping score: “no”).

“Now, with ‘X-Files’ being reactivated, it remains a mystery whether Fox can similarly meld nostalgia with fresh enthusiasm,” they write. Best of luck! PS. Even sci-fi prone movie blogs are listing 5 Reasons Why No One Gives A Fuck About New X-Files Movie. Also, after months of keeping the film and its plot incredibly under wraps, one of the movie’s producers has apparently spoiled the ending.
