Vincent Cassel To Produce And Star In A Rio de Janeiro-Set Romantic Comedy With Monica Bellucci?

The couple that acts together stays together. French actor Vincent Cassel has been married to Italian movie star Monica Bellucci for 11 years now, and they’ve acted together in eight films.

But Cassel hasn’t acted next to his wife since “Secret Agents” in 2004 (her cameo in the 2006 horror film, “Sheitan”) and most audiences remember their last appearance in 2002’s “Irreversible” (they met in 1996 on the film, “L’Appartement”).

While doing press for his upcoming film, “Mesrine,” which won Cassel a César Award (the French Oscar), the actor told USA Today that he would produce and star alongside his wife in a romantic comedy that took place during Carnival Rio de Janeiro. Shooting was said to take place sometime in 2012.

However, that part of the USA Today story has now been pulled. But you can still find the basics on Google (not cached though).

Why did USA Today pull that section of the story? We imagine that news wasn’t quite ready for primetime yet and the paper may have let the cat out of the bag too early, we’ll see. Anyhow, whenever something is pulled, our interest is always piqued, so keep an ear and eye out. We assume more details will surface soon.
